~My Angel My Child~

If you ever watched a small child, as they lay fast asleep You'd know they are an angel, that God has let you keep From the very moment of their birth, while they lay at your side You'll know this child has all your love, no matter what their size.

A child of God's creation, an everlasting joy A tiny bit of humanity, disguised as a girl or boy Your heart will seem to swell inside, your eyes will well with tears Everytime they snuggle close, you'll want them even nearer

The wisdom that they offer, sometimes is hard to see Often times we're far too busy, to take the time we need Just a look in their direction, can bring a great big hug And a chocoate covered kiss, can make you melt inside

It feels like only yesterday, you held them in your arms And now you catch a glimpse of them, as they run out the door They've grown into a young man or a girl with twinkling eyes You wonder where the time went, how it seemed to fly

You sneak into their bedroom after they are fast asleep And watch that childish face, that's turned into a teen Your heart begins to swell inside and tears well in your eyes No matter how big they get, they still can make you cry
